  1. Plug in for maya comes with the game.. although maybe installed with the editor, but should be... EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\maya But the only version of maya that supports the plugins is maya 6 if i remember right. Anyway good luck with what your doing, just don't expact loads of help from here as not many if any use maya.

This is just something that happens when you set that layer and not fully pained your map, its not a bug or error, you just need to paint your map.
  3. Sweet work mate as allways, looks a fun map, will d/l it
  4. As i said before, use the effects found in staticobjects/effects.. and not effects/.. the ones in the effects folder are not ment to be placed, which is why they dissapear.
  5. Set the animation speed speed for the water, it should be set to a few hundred, depending on fast you want it to animate, 1 is very fastest, 500 slow. It can be changed with notepad, open the water.con found in your map, and alter the animation speed there, also can be set in the water settings in the editor (tweak bar/your map/water settings..)
  6. You must have a very good teacher, or pure tallent, but prob both Great work!!

Your adding the wrong effects, don't place the ones in the effects foldr, use the StaticObjects\ambienteffects ones

Hey again, yea looking cool so far, look forward to seeing more, just bit worried about it only being 256x1... surely you are right near edge of map? P.S all the best to your Gran
  9. Yea vista causes a dump window to appear when closeing the editor, this is normal, shouldn't cause any problems.
  10. Hello, ah sorry, i missread... yes mschoeldgen is spot on as allways
  11. Undergrowth should be fine after lightmaps, and some morphing is normal, thats bf2 for you. But hard to tell if anything could be done to reduce it without seeing pics.
  12. Thats not a problem with the resize but the terrain meeting the surrounding terrain, so to fix create the surrounding terrain from a mirror of your primary, tools like bgf heightmap tools, or the Bf2HeightmapGenerator.exe will do this, both are posted somewhere on the forums.
  13. Yea i've been playing some of the single player, its quite fun, quite like crysis sp. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed Piratey things in the SP?, Like the Forts in the desert with the cannons? looks just like the pirates Bastion map, .. even has lighthouse in distance, and the parrots.. but havent made them explode yet
  14. Think thats a lightmap problem try redoing them, its shows especially on low/medium lightmaps. Also try paint over it with very light brush
  15. Yea you need a ingamemap.dds in that folder, the editor should of created those files, but you had problems creating the map right? But anyway thats the minimap image, so generate the minimap in the editor, then rename the minimap.dds to ingamemap.dds from the editor and copy it to.. your_map/hud/minimap/
  16. First, you need a LightmapAtlas.TAI file in.. your_map/lightmaps/objects/ Create a textfile and name it LightmapAtlas.TAI, or copy one from a dice map, and edit it with note pad so it contains the following text.. # <filename> <atlas filename>, <atlas idx>, <woffset>, <hoffset>, <width>, <height> # # Texture <filename> can be found in texture atlas <atlas filename>, i.e., # <group><idx>.dds with texture coordinates boundary given by: # A = ( <woffset>, <hoffset> ) # B = ( <woffset> + <width>, <hoffset> + <height> ) # # where coordinates (0,0) and (1,1) of the original texture map correspond # to coordinates A and B, respectively, in the texture atlas. Second, your missing some colourmaps, so make small change to terrain texture in ED and do a resave... There may be more but i stopped at the missing colormaps Third! debug it yourself, i'm little tired of help my map crashes help, and i don't know why Help! questions. At the top of this section there are instructions on how to debug a map/mod. The Announcement titled "Self Help" Also you can debug in "windowed mode", which is quicker and easyier than the bf_r.exe, To do this just rightclick your bf2 shortcut, go to properties, then the shortcut tab, then change this bit in the "target box" "fullscreen 1" to fullscreen 0. Now a error window will pop up when it crases that will give you and us the information you/we need to fix the problem. You will save yourself alot of time and frustration by doing so

    The Crater

Terrain and texture were done in geocontrol, and photoshop, .. for the crater i used a high res mars crater image
  22. How would you go about adding sp to a map with no control points? i have a deathmatch map, its a crater, spawnpoints all around edge of crater in circle, would i add just a stratigic area to the center or?? I'm puzzeled as how to set it up as its unlike the normal play of flag hopping, so any advice would be great
