    Rising Conflicts is looking for some more staff to help us produce the Rising Conflicts mod for Bf2. we are looking for the following Modelers - looking for modelers with knowledge of uvmapping and a imagination and initiative to make weapons,vehicles,statics and aircraft in a near future setting. all levels of experience accepted. When apply please submit some work Concept artist - Looking for some imaginative people with lots of initiative and ideas. On apply submit 1-2 pieces of work (new concept vehicle) Texture artist - Require good 2d abilities and imagination PR - require imagination, initiative, good writing skills, able to foster relationships with forum moderators,news sites and other mod teams. Web site Administration - Require knowledge of html, and basic web site desing and maintenance Mappers - Require ability to map in BF2, knowledge of light mapping and ai path mapping a assets. must be willing to work as a team and build levels in which will best fit into the RC vision.     well first it wasn't a mod day.. it was a community see and play bf2142. The people invited were BF community people. their were mods invited as well as news sites and clans. I will have a full write up on my blog at www.webturd.com later this week. on what went down at Redwood on Sept 1st 2006

    yes as per my post they do have a editor and they are releasing it.. it will come as the bf2 editor came with very little to no documents.

    well it was offical from them but what ever.. i edited my first post so.. now get back on topic of ea/dice releasing another tool with no docs or tuts and the expectation the community will do it like they did for Bf2.

    Well keithw it was from kristoff from DICE sweden at a EA sponsored question and answer session. to me that makes it offical.. their were online news sites as well as other people their who can verify this.. This was something DICE and EA set up.. ^^^ the question and answer. this is not made up or somethign I PDOMA.

    Ok after talking to Kristoff and other EA and DICE members at the Community day for Bf2142. The editor for BF2142 will follow the EDITOR for BF2 it will be released with little documnetation and they will rely on the Mods and gaming community to help as well colin and his team to work on it as well.. Does this mean the bf2 editor does not get any more updates? does this mean another year long struggle for Mods of the BF series?

  9. OK this is for all mod teams to send their representatives so we can work together and give dice a united fornt on what we need and want and such. Satcom will not be speaking for the mod community. as well you may want to know gamma is also one of the guys sorting this out. If we wish to work togethe ron this we need to stop bashing each other and compiling and pooling our needs and wants so that we can bring it to colin and the other dice reps. if w ehave a united effort it will help if we start bickering among people we are deafeating the purpose.

We have successfully Modded Bf42 and BFV with DCX,CIS to our credit. We are looking for Modelers,Static Modelers,Skinners,Animators. Below you can find the descriptions of what we expect. A willingness to learn, have fun and work as a team is a necessity. Dynamic Modeling Software: 3ds Max7/8, Game Editor An understanding of weapons and non-static systems modeling, creation in modeling software, and UV unwrapping. An understanding of basic object-oriented programming for subcomponent lookup, linking, and modification. Geometry Knowledge as it relates to motion in a 4d environment (x,y,z,and speed). Be familiar with skinning, exporting into game, Level of Detail (LOD), pivot points as they relate to position angle, and center-of-gravity for attachment purposes, per-face material assignments for visual technique, understanding skin modifiers for mesh deformation, and material assignments. Duties will include: the creation of non-static systems as assign in modeling software and getting the created models ready for skinning, allocation and setup of weapons systems, and handling characteristics for vehicles and destructible statics. Be prepared to assist skinning and coding departments as need while getting the model into game. Environmental Modeling Software: 3ds Max7/8, Game Editor An understanding of static systems modeling, creation in modeling software, and UV unwrapping. Be familiar with skinning, exporting into game, Level of Detail (LOD), per-face material assignments for visual technique, and material assignments. Understand and be able to apply the techniques required to get a static into game. Duties will include: the creation of static systems as assign in modeling software and getting the created models ready for skinning. Be prepared to assist skinning and mapping departments as need while getting the model into game. Animation Software: 3ds Max7/8, Game Editor An understanding of weapons and dynamic systems modeling, creation in modeling software, and UV unwrapping and how they work together. Be able realistically re-create dynamic interaction between components. Have an understanding of basic object-oriented programming for subcomponent lookup, linking, and modification. Geometry knowledge as it relates to motion in a 4d environment (x, y, z, and speed). Be familiar with skinning, exporting into game, Level of Detail (LOD), pivot points as they relate to position angle, and center-of-gravity for attachment purposes, per-face material assignments for visual technique, understanding skin modifiers for mesh deformation, and material assignments. Be able to effectively combine all the components and export to game created animations. Duties will include: the creation of animations as assign in modeling software and getting the created animations from 3ds max through the editor and coded into game. Be prepared to work with the modelers and coders to ensure the animations are accurately rendered in game. Skinner Software: 3ds Max7/8, Game Editor, PhotoShop A understanding of modeling, having a very artistic flair. The ability to UV is a major asset, The willingness and want to learn attitude for UV is also a definite asset. Duties will include: creation of high quality highly detailed skins, working with the modelers and coders to ensure the best of quality.

    Rising Conflicts update

    Time for a update. We would like to welcome a bunch of new staff. Angus, Disgruntled Lama, General Whoopee, AndyD, KingPin28 Next I will Say Good Bye to a good Friend. Zeuser. Has hung up his moding shoes and retired. I have been modding with Zeuser since August of 2003, He will be missed by the team. We wish him all the luck in his life and other endeavors. Thanks for your time and all your work and effort. Zeuser started DCX back in 2003. He started making it just for his lan buddies.. He started releasing DCX to the public after his Lan Buddies convinced him. In September of 2003 a small team was assembled to help Zeuser and his unbelievable innovations. I wont go into all his achievements in DCX as there are way to many to list. Homing missile, Spawn camp killer, Armories. Just to name a small few. As the Nitrous DPV in DCX Zeuser will always be synonymous with DCX. From all the staff At Salty Dogs Productions Thanks. Was great working with ya. Well to finish off this update on a high. I have a few nice renders for you.
  15. [AIntent]keithw arrogance hmm maybe but more disappointment.. EA promoted BF2 as the moddable game. They put a lot of effort into the semblance that this game would be released with the ultimate mod tools. and that Anyone would be Abel to mod Bf2. Well does EA/DICE own us anything.. Here is my take. 1. Mod teams were used to help promote BF2 2. Mod teams helped Test their tools and give feed back 3. Mod teams helped test certain patches 4. Mod teams gave a nice detailed list of things Dice/EA needed to do to make the Game more mod friendly to allow for certain things (like mech) what happened they do not fix it until they put it in. (maybe they had it already planned Sure) 5. BF2 community sites Promoted furiously BF2 and all its patches Does EA/Dice owe us anything No.. DICE/EA are in it for the profit.. What does the news mean.. In MY OPINION (and mine alone) DICE does not want another DC (Desert Combat).. The booster packs the 2142 = BF2 Mod MAJOR Set back. Also = Frustration for mod teams.. After almost a year is their a full mod released yet? hmmmm As for the Mod tools.. How many Mods out their use the Mod Tools as their main tool for moding this game.. Well i still see more users of Notebook then the tools..
