  1. the texture file had bad proportions (i was making pixels a multiple of 4 instead of inches) oops thanks for all the help
  2. alright.. I should point out that im not getting a .Tweak file when exporting any of my objects (unless i make no col0,col1,col2) I'm using POE2_0.30a I used copy instead of instance. when i export now it does the same texture problem. heres a pic of the object tree thing... i don't use LOD because if i do then i only get a mesh folder when exporting (no .con/.tweak) and im afraid i don't know how to use a BaseDetailNDetail shader so i didn't try that yet. (new to 3dsmax) thanks for your help btw, really appreciate it
  3. well im stumped here... the first pic is my custom object (a helipad) with my own texture on it and here it is with my camera backed up a bit it is blurry like that in-game also unless im prone up against the pad...so its only a problem at a distance im confused because if i do a solid color or multipul colors it will work fine... i even tryed remaking the texture with different colors... anyone know why this happens? thanks! what i did: -created object -applied material -bf2 utilities > staticmesh -made a instance of _anchor (called it nonvis_) -made instances of box1 (called it col0,col1,col2) and linked it to nonvis_

  5. i noticed that a lot of objects don't have texture files (.dds) for example if you go to: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Objects_client.zip\Roads\staticsnoblend all of the "concreteblock_*" objects do not have a .dds file where are the texture files for these objects? thnx
  6. i might not know what im talking about at all but u should try this... go to : C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 COPY 'Booster_client' and 'Booster_server' and put them in: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\*YOURMOD*\Levels\*YOURMAP* now open editor and load your level go to "MOD" tab at the top then "MOD Manager" and click the "Editor Content" tab click 'ADD...' and select C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\*YOURMOD*\Levels\*YOURMAP*\Booster_client.zip and C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\*YOURMOD*\Levels\*YOURMAP*\Booster_server.zip then, click apply and OK. on your "Resourses" window (on the LEFT of your editor by default) ...click BF2>Objects>Vehicles>Xpak2_Vehicles>xpak2_musclecar and drag it into your map. if that doesnt work then i dont know xD
  7. i was editing operation road rage the same way i would edit a non booster pack map...but this error pops up at 15% (objects) when loading the map

  9. pff 4 hours...more like 10 but thanks corona for helping me get it up. i do have one other map tho that i have been trying to get up...i followed the "making basic terrain" Wiki and made a brand new map with a couple vehicles on it. sadly, it crashes when i click "join game" with no error
  10. do u know of any tuts on minimaps? i couldnt find any. when i put the entire HUD folder from Daqing Oilfields (unedited) inside 'my MAP' folder, i can load the map but my mouse is frozen in the middle of the screen...

  13. first off i made a new MOD...then put Daqing Oilfields in that mod and changed some stuff. so my question is how do i put it on an online server / local server? right now the files inside my new daqing map are: info server client md5 sever files - extracted client files - extracted dont i have to zip everything up to make it playable? if i try to play this map i crash at "join game" PS. i have looked at all the Wiki but they seem to focus more on making new maps instead of modding the bf2 maps.
  14. i didnt, i made a back up of the map and packaged the gulf of oman map in the editor. no harm done. i didnt package bf2.
  15. ok. im not sure what you ment by "Open the editor.. then choose the 64 layer"... but besides that. i opend editor. picked bf2- levels-open-gulf of oman. and then i deleted all the spawnpoints and things and modded the map how i wanted it. then i went into C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\Gulf_of_Oman\server\gamemodes\coop\64\copied the GPO. and pasted it into the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\BF2SP \Levels\Gulf_of_Oman\server\ gamemodes\ coop\64\ ran bfsp and tryed running gulf of oman. the map loaded BUT...it wasnt my map, it was their gulf of oman map... i dont get it what i do wrong?
