you have to add over 50 buttons to get all headers. there are over 25 different headers just for normalmap compressions...

sorry dude, but i did all one by one. i glued around 98% of the textureheaders and copied the files one by one to the right folder, was quiet painful. i figured out all headers manually cause i'm not good enough to script something...

guys you can't assume that every texture has the same dimensions or proportions. here is an example. not all textures are shown up because xnview doesn't support all dds compression types.

oh, the compression type is correct, but the rest not. this texture has a resolution of 1024x512, 11 mip levels...

wrong dimensions, wrong dtx compression, wrong mip map levels chosen...

sure it works with every texture. the textures have the wrong header. you have to edit the .dds header depending on multiple informations. also lots of textures have completely different compression types, so dxt is wrong. My link

Ok, I finally figured out how to convert the textures with some effort. As example I use the texture: ...\res\levels\mp_subway\terrain\textures\mp_subway_grass_01_c.itexture As Frankelstner mentioned before the guid of the texture is specified in the .itexture format. The marked bytes represent the chunk file in the folder: ...\bundles If you found the file you have to glue the 128 byte dds header. It is really easy to figure out the header (which specifies the DXT compression/texture resolution...) by looking at the chunk size. In this case the chunk has a size of 2.731 kb which is equal to a 2048x2048 DXT1 compressed texture. This way it is possible to convert most of the textures. Maybe someone has the motivation to write a converter regards

Hey Frankelstner, in some .dbx files the path "Terrains\MP_005\MaskTextures\..." is declared, but I don't get the path with its content by extracting the .fbrb archives. I tried to extract every .fbrb with every compression level (0-9). Maybe there are more information your converter doesn't handle? Anyways good work :-) regards

i don't understand how to allocate chunk files to the (eg. content) of ebx files (not the ebx files that contain sound file information). i couldn't associate heightmaps with them... i just found some information about the heightfield in default.txt in level directories but no chunk info.

Thanks, but where can i get the editor?

Could it be that texturefiles are "wrongly" extracted (all my texturefiles have a size of 1kb)?
  13. You have to rename the .terrainheightfield to .raw and follow the steps i described. I don't know which options are used for BF2 by exporting from Photoshop. The other files (.watermesh, .visualterrain...) are useless for us.

nice, thanks. now i know how to "convert" the emitter .dds files. but for using your files a few other's are missed

    Fbrb Extractor/packer

I took a look at the mesh files and saw they are build on Havok 5.5. I deleted the header, renamed them to .hkx or hke and tried to import them to different programs and maya, but I failed. Maybe you know how to import them (although it should be illegal. But unpacking textures and sounds is illegal too.) greetings sorry for my bad english
