Dnamro
I verified that all you need to do is to add some lines to the registry and you can install the BF2editor into your BF2142 folder. Here is the registry update needed to allow the BF2editor installer to install into your BF2142 folder: http://files.filefront.com/BF2142+editor+f...;/fileinfo.html Just save the file to your desktop or somewhere convenient and then double click on it. Windows will ask if you want to update the registry. Select Yes, and its setup. You can edit the file with notepad and change the installdir if your BF2142 installation is not in the standard location. These are the registry settings: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2] "Language"="English" "Locale"="en_US" "InstallDir"="c:\\Program Files\\Electronic Arts\\Battlefield 2142" "Version"="1.4"

Zokk
Yes! Thanks! This is exactly what I've been looking for! One problem though: I start up the editor and almost immediatly, it gives me these two errors: First, it says "DirectX version 9.0c or higher is requred to run BF2. Please install DX9c and try again". The catch is that I just downloaded and installed DX10.0 from the microsoft website, so I don't get why it's telling me that. The second error, which occurs right after the DX one is one that says "This application has generated an exceptionand will be closed. Please attach the crash dump to the error report. Open dump folder?" What the heck does that mean, anyway? If I could get any help from anyone, I'd apreciate it. I've been poking around for solutions off the web and some of my own, but I haven't gotten anywhere...

I don't have BF2 installed but I made a folder in ea games/battlefield 2/mods/bf 2142 and did the object unpacking. Any ideas?

Spatchman
If it's a registry file then I think you just run it, or you can edit your registry manually, just be careful.

Dnamro
This registry file fix is for XP. I zipped up the editor files for easier installation for those that don't have BF2 installed. You will need to create a \Battlefield 2 folder in the Program files\EA games folder and unzip the BF2editor zip files into it. http://www.battlefieldsingleplayer.com/dnamro/files/BF2/BF2Editor_zip.zip A successful installation will have at least 2 subfolders folders as follows: \program files\ea games\Battlefield 2 \bf2editor \navmesh
HawkeAssault
I know this is 14 years later, but I'm attempting to do this on Windows 10. The original file to edit the registry is no longer available and I can't find the registry to edit manually.
