"generate Pathfinding" Crashes Editor

So, i'm navmeshing (or at least attempting :P) a map.

I've prepped everything so far, double checked all the stuff...

but when i want to create the GTS data for meshing aka. The Generate Pathfinding Button in SP editor it hangs up. Vista gives me this:

Not really a fix, but give this try (worked for me when I had a similar problem). Port all the 2142 assets & make it a part of bf2, so open your 2142 map within bf2. Try hitting gen pathfinding now. Fingers crossed it'll work.

I'm assuming you use the bf2editor ? If so, check its log file ( in /bf2editor/logs ) to perhaps find more hints about the crash . Here are some common errors :

* You didn't check 'usedByPathfinding' in your combat area

* You don't have overgrowth and missed to create an empty dummy file named 'overgrowthcollision.con' in your /overgrowth folder

* You didn't create any StrategicAreas

I've had this happen recently on a map, not much help from the logs. What helped to fix it was delete the StrategicAreas.con in the editor/ai folder of your level, and delete all your controlpoints, save, restart the editor add you're controlpoints back in, and relink your stategic areas. Then generate your pathfinding, and all should be well.
