My First Map

Ok.. Its not my first map, but its the first one I thought was worth sharing, and the first one I "finished" completely. The object lightmaps turned out a little darker than I wanted, but thats ok.

This is a sniper only map (real creative! biggrin.gif ) and has custom kits and weapons. Game mode is Team Deathmatch. Map name is Sniper Valley. Enjoy!

That's a nice looking map Corona...

One thing i would do is set all the trees so they stand straight up...

there is a setting in the overgrowth that you can change to 0 or 0.1 so they all stand straight.

you can also set it so that the trees are a little crooked.

Here is the map as I originally made it. No nav mesh in this version. Intended for vanilla Bf2

Yes - It is totally cool for you to use it. I am downloading the mod now and I will test my map on it to see if anything needs to be changed or added to make it work properly.

I will also rework the map a bit to fix a few eyesores that I noticed, mainly the lightmaps and undergrowth, and I will also add a navmesh. Give me about a week or so to fix it up. smile.gif

Sure, You guys can port it and use it for your mods, but I would prefere you to use the newest version.



Added trails

Bridges for crossing the river

Ambient sounds and triggers

Extra buildings for cover

More kits

Full SP and Coop support

Please keep in mind that this is still a WIP and it WILL crash when loading geometries in online only. If you guys can figure out what the problem is please let me know.

You may want to replace the contents of the maps UndergrowthAtlas.tai file,with this

# mods/bf2\Levels\sniper_valley_II/UndergrowthAtlas.tai



# <filename> <atlas filename>, <atlas idx>, <woffset>, <hoffset>, <width>, <height>


# Texture <filename> can be found in texture atlas <atlas filename>, i.e.,

# <group><idx>.dds with texture coordinates boundary given by:

# A = ( <woffset>, <hoffset> )

# B = ( <woffset> + <width>, <hoffset> + <height> )


# where coordinates (0,0) and (1,1) of the original texture map correspond

Content/Terrain/Undergrowth/fieldgrass.dds Levels\sniper_valley_II/UndergrowthAtlas0.dds, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1

and your load music source needs renaming to this

<music> levels\sniper_valley_II\load_level.ogg </music>

By chance did you use someones level renamer, to rename sniper_valley to sniper_valley_II

HA! Yes I used Bergers level renamer, but it looks like some files didnt get changed. I totally understand why it crashes in online now!! tongue.gif

/levels/sniper_valley/ is a valid path on my machine and thats why it loads locally and not internt. THANKS!!!!!

I made the repairs and tested and it works great! Thanks Devilman. biggrin.gif

Feel free to change the weapons/kits/soldiers to utilize any custom content your mod may have, but please dont change the map itself without asking me first. Thanks and enjoy!! biggrin.gif
