Custom Loading Sounds For Maps

Recommended Posts

So I've been developing this mod for Battlefield 2142, and I'm trying to change the music for individual levels.

I've put all the music files (.ogg format) into a zip, mounted it, and wrote in each level's info description file to play sound\that song.ogg

none of them work, they just dont play when I load the map.

This is also a problem with custom sound effects, only the custom .wav sound effects work, but not the .ogg

if they are in the same file, and their path is correct

it sounds like (no pun intended) your ogg files, are saved in the wrong format for BF2142

That's what I was thinking.

Do you know what format they need to be in for BF2142?

Please help me with this, I've been trying to figure this out for weeks.

try this convertor

http://www.bfeditor.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14640&st=15

if it doesnt work, just post here, and keep bumping your post every 4 hours and 34 minutes :P

I converted the music but havent tested it, but when I try to convert what I want to change the Russian VO to, it stops at steam#0.0 and gives me this error message:

Could this be because of my terrible previous attempts to convert the same file to the right format? Or is there another problem?

Bump.

This suddenly got incredibly complicated, far more than what I was expecting.

That converter you gave me only worked for one VO sound, and that was the requesting medic and requesting medic alt, the rest are silent.

But they are silent because they are a different ogg format, but I dont know how to get that format.

I went to that thread and it made things complicated.

I just want to get the sounds to work, here's the codec info of the "go go go" sound, which is one of the sounds that are silent.

Whatever I need to do to get the sounds to work, I'll do, as long as it isnt complicated.

The best thing is a converter, but I still get the same error message when I try to convert the sound to a "1P Wave" or a "3P Wave", which I assume those are what I need to convert it to since those are the only ones left and the ones that aren't working right now, I converted as "menu music"
