Battlefield 4 Mesh Smoothing Groups

hope I'm posting in the right forum.

I have a little problem with the Battlefield 4 meshes. No matter how I import them (mesh importer scripts or via hex2obj), I get messed up smoothing groups...

I asked over at Facepunch (http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1443509) and dainiuxxx said that smoothing groups/normals data is lost when importing with hex2obj. But I also get these problems with his mesh importer scripts.

So does anyone here know a way to import the proper smoothing groups/normals? Can I get hex2obj to import them somehow? Or could dainiuxxx scripts be edited so they import them?

I would be very glad if someone could help me with this.
