{Sn][per}ELI
Also, if you notice my previous post, the sand color texture may come out really bright. If you get in photoshop and take the low.tga or whichever your useing for sand, do a ctrl+A, Ctrl+X then paint it black. Then ctrl+v. For some reason the color texture would be applied semi transparent and it would be crazy bright. After I made the tga with a black backround layer, and the texture layer on top of that, it came out just right. (almost)Also remember the colors it applies are dictated by the .tgas in the data folder NOT by the colors set in the editor. I noticed the colors on my map didn't appear to be the colors I selected in the editor. How do I change them after I have run this tool? Do I alter the .tgas data in the folder you mentioned? Can you give me a path to find that info.?
11FG Clooney
Thanks guys, I got it going. There was a program running in the background that was causing the "runme".bat to quit prematurely. I was lost because it was not generating the proper folders. But its all good now. Thanks again, nothing wrong with the program at all. Kudos Token ,you did a good job with it.
[PC]BF2C|Token
Cheers Clooney. [per}ELI]I noticed the colors on my map didn't appear to be the colors I selected in the editor. Â How do I change them after I have run this tool? Â Do I alter the .tgas data in the folder you mentioned? Â Can you give me a path to find that info.? The colours you select in the editor have no effect the colormap generated by the tool. If you want to change the colormap generated with BF2_TPaint, change the textures high.tga, low.tga and steep.tga in BF2_TPaint/data. Then run the tool again. [IS2]TheFlyingCorpse
Hey Token, its a nice tool you have made BUT, BUT, the splitted files are 512x512x24 BPP, I need 1024x1024x24 BPP, if I rescale it all looks wierd. Any suggestion for me?

Any suggestion for me? Just run BF2_TPaint.exe directly, you will then have to split the files colourbig.tga and detailbig.tga manually. What Heightmap settings require files split into 1024x1024? Or is it for something else?

Uber_Soldat
this works sometimes but alot of the time the terrain is actually painted but you have to get 2 inches away from the ground to tell, its super bright, and you still see the default gray/white checker grid. im using the 3 layers, runme, moving files to editor folder, saving like i should.... dunno what is up. Uber_Soldat
ok well now my question is where do i get these color textures in that format so i can replace the high, low, steep tga's in the data subfolder? sand02_soft sand02_dark sand_detailed i looked around in the editor files because i figured that's where they'd be, but couldnt find anything. [PC]BF2C|Token
The BF2Editor colour textures are located in common_client.zip: modsbf2Common_client.zip -> TerrainTexturesColor but you could use any image what so ever as long as it is in the correct format (24-bit TGA). To convert an image to a 24-bit TGA you will need to use an image editor/convertor. To read and convert dds images you will need photoshop or gimp with a dds plugin.
