Texture Problem

Recommended Posts

Hey, I have a problem, when I go to the textures, and I select layer 1, for example, I go to that tweak section to pick a terrain texture, but when I double click, the screen comes up for a microsecond, and dissapears, randomly selecting a terrain, how do I fix this

also, do you have any tutorials on making the textures manually and on good detail because the textures are always low detail

I use BF2Ecomap

I have never messed with ecomap... the simplest way to texture your map is with BFTpaint... then use layers 4-6 to do fine detail...

and you can make your own textures in photoshop... do a basic map first

and ill show you how to make custom textures...

check out this tut on getting a map started...

Oh when I zoom out it never shows the textures

Did you select "Both" before texturing? Sounds to me like you didn't paint the 'colour texture' (low detail) only the 'detail texture.' (high detail)

This has been asked a phenominal amount of times Xaritix (and it is written in the tutorials), I'm sure having been around here long enough to have heard of the handy SEARCH button, at least once or twice....

Yeah BFTpaint is very advanced... It was created by scientists at NASA...

texturing by hand is the way to go...

and dont read any of the silly tutorials... they will just slow you down...

just ask a question every step you take and then dont follow anyones advice...

you put the BFTpaint folder in your maps folder...

then open the BFTpaint folder and click on bftpaint.exe

then let it run.... then copy and paste the color, detail and lowdetailmap folders from there

into the editor folder of your map...
