Today we are to highlighting a Battlefield 2 modification that most people who play mods have already heard about. If you are an old time battlefield player Point of Existence probably doesn’t need an introduction but if you are new to the game here is a pleasant surprise for you. Point of Existence is a complete conversion mod that with lethal weapons that provides an exciting game play experience.

This mod is one of the oldest with its roots in Battlefield Vietnam pitting Russia against USA but in Point of Existence 2 the warring parties has been changed to Ukraine and Germany and the theatre of war replaced with Eastern Europe. The battle takes place a couple of years into the future with weapons that have a contemporary look and feel.

The modification includes 13 maps with 2 additional game modes besides conquest meaning you probably won’t get tired of the scenery when assaulting your enemies or defending your flags. The Frontlines mode changes the maps to a more linear experience were the flags have to be conquered in a particular order. Nuke on the other hand changes the game to an objective mode where one team tries to destroy an object in the least amount of time. The maps also come in all three sizes (16, 32 and 64 players) in conquest mode. The team has also just released a map pack with maps made from fans adding another 3 great maps to the pool.

The maps range from meat grinding infantry battles to air only deals with a good mix of armour, infantry and air in most scenarios. The scenery ranges from pastoral Ukraine in the summer to village maps in the winter with the occasional all woods map thrown into the mix.

Point of Existence 2 sports a tight gameplay with lethal weapons while still retaining the arcade feel of the battlefield franchise. While the gameplay may not cater to everyone's taste once you get over the initial hump the gameplay is smooth, well crafted and rewards the thinking player above the mad rusher every time.

The vehicles and its weapons have a clunky feel in a good sense and are somewhat similar to earlier battlefield titles while the infantry fights are fast and deadly. With accurate weapons and soldiers going down in just a few shots, aim and game awareness is highly rewarded.
